When it comes to attending a murder event we at MysteryInternational
have a few tips for getting the most out of your investigations...
Make your reservations well in advance. Many venues regularly sell out murder mystery events.
If your group has more than 15 guests, consider renting a private banqueting space? Some venues will produce special private murder mysteries for groups of a certain size. Or, give
Moneypenny Productions a call for a private quote on 0870-90-40-007.
Some (but not all) murder mystery weekends allow guests to participate as characters in the drama. Prepare yourself by reading any materials you receive.
When possible, dress in character.
Play it for fun. If you take the event too seriously, it will quickly lose appeal.
Don't get nervous - the plots are generally simple and the company generally fun.
Don't be a wall-flower. Interact. Asking questions is the only way to uncover the killer!
Tips:
Try to go to a murder mystery event with people you know, at least for your first time. You'll feel more comfortable.
Pace yourself!
If you've never attended a murder mystery event consider a murder evening as opposed to a whole weekend. The difference is that the event is run over a meal between 7.30 and 11 o'clock. These events are generally less expensive, can be just as fun and not as fatiguing! Also, ask venues about accommodation deals - sometimes room rates are drastically reduced making a murder night a fantastic alternative as a long (entertaining) weekend.
Play fair. Whatever ground rules are set (e.g. whether characters can lie), adhere to them.
Follow your suspects everywhere.. and we mean: everywhere!
If you are staying overnight check out early on the day you leave. Otherwise, you could spend an hour cuing at reception with everyone else at the conclusion of the mystery.
